问：为什么答案是D,不是B?

析：本题的关键在这个定冠词上.如果没有它,则AB都对.思路：2000太大,说10好了.能说the ten fans (这十个粉丝）,不能说：ten the fans吧?所以排除A.C是明显错误,大多数人能排除.楼主其实已经将这两个排除了.
先说D的正确性：见过：Two of the students吗?就是“那些学生中的两个,这时候的two是名词,而且是中心词,of the students是它的定语.类推,two thousand of the fans是一回事.这歌手的粉丝可多了,远不止两千,就是那天去迎接他,想和他见面的那些个粉丝（the fans) 也不止两千,其中在音乐厅外面等着的就有两千!
最有迷惑性的就是这个B!其实D,在常识上不妥,有谁数过,那么巧,在外面等的正好是两千个?不是2005个?加个about会好些.而thousands of ...正好是一个比较模糊而有合理的数字：几千个 （有谁会去数?2000～9999之内,都可以这么说.问题还是出在这个the上.Thousands of fans ...(数千个粉丝...）,没有问题.thousands of the fans.只能理解成“这些粉丝中有数千人”,从语法结构上和two thousand of the fans是一样的,中心词是thousands,of the fans是定语.但总感觉这样表达不是很好.也许是受了标准答案的影响吧.
评：这个题目可能有争议.也很难说B就不行.只能说选D为最 佳吧.
