定冠词 ( the ) 的用法
1.用于上文提到,下文再次出现的名词前.如 I have a dog,the dog is black.
2.用于说话双方都知道的名词前.如 Where’s the teacher?He’s in the classroom.
3.用于有短语或从句修饰的名词前.如 The bike under the tree is mine./ Do you know the man that is living here?
注：以上三条可总称为：the用于特指的名词前.
4.用于序数词前.如 the first lesson
5.用于最高级前.如 the longest river
6.用于世界上独一无二的名词前.如 the earth.
7.用于方位名词前.如 on the right,in the south.
8.用于单词same前.如 in the same class.
9.用于西洋乐器名词前.如 play the piano.
10.用于江、河、湖、海、山脉、群岛等名词前.如 the Yellow River,the Himalayas.
11.用于表示报刊、杂志的名称的名词前.如 the People’s Daily.
12.用于由普通名词和形容词构成的专有名词前.如 the Great Wall,the United Nations.
注：以上三条可总称为：the用于某些专有名词短语前.
13.用于单数名词前,表示一类人或物.如 The banana is a kind of fruit.
14.用于某些形容词前,表示一类人或物.如 We should look after the old.
15.用于某些名词化的表示民族的形容词前,译作“某国/族人”.如 The French are very friendly.
16.用于姓氏的复数或姓氏 + family前,表示一家人或夫妇二人.如 the Browns,the Brown family.
17.用于世纪年代前.即“in the + 世纪年代s / 世纪年代’s”.如 in the 1990s,in the 1990’s.
18.用于句型“the more…,the more…”中,译作“越…,越…”.如 The busier you are,the happier you feel.
19.用于句型“…of the two”中,译作“在…两者中”.如 He is the taller of the two.
