Among the “Twelve Key Red Tourist Areas”, Shandong belongs to Shandong-Jiangsu-Anhui Red Tourist Area. Among the “Thirty Fine Red Tourist Routes of China”, there is a Jinan—Jining—Zaozhuang—Linyi—Lianyungang Route which most of the tourist spots are in Shandong, for example: Jinan Campaign Memorial Hall in Jinan, the sites of commemoration of the Railroad Guerrilla Team in Jining Weishan Lake and the city of Zaozhuang, the site of Tai’erzhuang Battlefield in Zaozhuang, the Site of Menglianggu Battlefield in Lin City and the East China Revolutionary Martyrs’ Cemetery.
在“全国100个红色旅游经典景区”中,山东拥有6个,分别是济南市红色旅游系列景区（点）（包括济南革命烈士陵园、济南战役纪念馆）；枣庄市、济宁市铁道游击队红色旅游系列景区（点）；枣庄市台儿庄大战遗址；临沂市红色旅游系列景区（点）（包括沂蒙山孟良崮战役遗址、临沂市华东革命烈士陵园）；莱芜市莱芜战役纪念馆；青岛市海军博物馆.
